The Romantic Getaway

Whether you're celebrating an anniversary or just looking for an excuse for a date weekend, this romantic itinerary brings you the very best of Wolfville’s charm, cuisine, and natural beauty. Intimate dining, scenic strolls, and cozy accommodations make it the perfect couples' escape.

Day 2

Morning cuddles call for a full gourmet breakfast at Tattingstone Inn’s gorgeous sunroom! With a wide array of fresh produce at the heart of their menu, the folks at the Inn are masters when it comes to crafting a delectable breakfast spread. And to ensure that all guests receive the best service possible, you’ll pre-select your seating time upon checking into the Inn, so there is no stress about finding a table - they have one already set aside with your name on it!

Surprise! You decided to make the weekend getaway extra special with an elopement package or vow renewal at the delightful Wolfville Wedding Chapel! Sarah and her team curate intimate and low-cost ceremonies that are sure to become a beautiful shared memory for you and your sweetheart. To make the experience even sweeter? We recommend a handcrafted bouquet from Buds & Bygones Flower Shop, a family tradition that has been lovingly passed from mother to son right in the heart of Wolfville. And don’t forget to get your rings! Herbin Jewellers, another incredible family legacy business in town, features unique pieces that will be perfect for commemorating your special moment.

Alternative morning plan: not quite ready to say, “I do”? No problem! We’d suggest swapping out the ceremony for a morning at Eau Spa (located in the Old Orchard Inn) for one of their signature spa packages. Massages, manicure, pedicure - the perfect self-care moment for you both!

For a final late lunch before you wrap up your romantic weekend away, drive down the road to Le Caveau, the nationally and internationally acclaimed restaurant on the property of Domain de Grand Pré. With admiration for Nova Scotia’s land and sea, and deep respect for the people that work on and in it, their culinary team work hard to craft locally focused, seasonally inspired menus which you can enjoy from the comfort of the outdoor terrace or their cozy indoor space.

Day 1: Wine & Wonder

Start the day slowly with a cup of locally roasted coffee and a compass bun (or two, or three…) together at Charts Cafe, while sitting under one of the many maps along the cafe walls or from the Adirondack chairs out front.

From the cafe, walk down Main Street to the Visitor Information Centre where you’ll catch your Magic Winery Bus tour for the day. On board a classic British Double Decker Bus, your engaging guide will curate your journey to four wineries.  Three of your stops will feature wine tastings and the fourth, lunch with a glass of wine – all included! And not to worry: there will be time for you to purchase additional tasting flights and explore the vineyards and wine shops throughout the day.

After a full day of wine touring, savour a leisurely early supper together at Juniper Food + Drink, a cozy 16-seat restaurant on Main Street. On the menu you’ll find both quality interpretations of classic dishes and daring new ventures into the uncharted territories of Nova Scotian cuisine. Chef Geoff Hopgood prides himself on sourcing the best ingredients that this beautiful province has to offer, working closely with producers and his small, talented team to turn those ingredients into special, simple and delicious dishes.

Check into the Harwood Suite at Tattingstone Inn, a richly refurbished space featuring freestanding soaker tub, rainfall shower, matching robes, and an antique writing desk - oh, and did we mention your own private rooftop deck with an incredible view of the Minas Basin?! It’s perfectly paired with your wine purchases from the day.
